As a retired child and family therapist, I’ve find nothing more empowering—or more essential for personal growth—than expressive, exploratory art making. Art making promotes self awareness, acceptance, problem solving, healing and overall wellbeing. It is both my mission and delight to design and implement immersive, joyful, brain-nourishing, and collaborative creative experiences for children and adults.

This 5-day residency is designed to spark the playful imagination of children in a world where creativity is too often outsourced to a screen. Tapping into my experience as a Child Development Specialist in the public schools, I collaborate closely with classroom teachers to align mural themes with grade-level curriculum and social learning goals. Students create in the style of a master artist while exploring an array of materials, mediums, and techniques. The residency culminates in a vibrant, co-created masterpiece—proudly displayed in a hallway or pod bulletin board—where students celebrate both their individual creativity and their collective achievement. It’s a busy week. Parent helpers warmly welcome!

Students’ imaginations take center stage in this immersive, multi-modal 5-day residency blending paper arts, drawing, set design, puppetry, storytelling, and performance. Classmates collaborate to paint and texturize colorful papers to add depth and dimension to their 3-D sceneries. Artists then dive into individual self-expression—developing their own storylines, characters, and backdrops. Creativity comes alive as they transform their ideas into whimsical sets and puppets. The residency culminates in student-directed one-act performances shared with an enthusiastic audience of peers. Can be shortened to 4 days if performances scheduled by teachers for a later date.
