For Chris, art comes from that way of seeing. It’s not just an image; it’s a story, an echo of our ancestors, a living testimony to the culture, heritage, and influence each generation has left behind.

Born Julia Celeste Zapien now married under my new name Becker. I was born and raised in the valley of The Columbia River Gorge. The Gorge is something I carry with me proudly, and my art is a reflection of that connection as an artist. I most enjoy working with acrylic and watercolor, but I also love block printing and often draw inspiration from my Latin roots through Día de los Muertos inspired pieces. Art is gift that can create connection, be restorative, and offer respite from a busy world.
